Danai Gurira is leveling up with her recent purchase of a $2.3 million Hollywood Hills home located in the celebrity-populated Outpost Estates neighborhood. The 2,574-square-foot two-story abode features three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, with a unique layout that emphasizes privacy and stunning canyon views. The Walking Dead actress, who recently showed off her acting prowess on the big screen in Avengers: Endgame, will surely find respite in the home’s sun-soaked common living area, which features an open-floor plan that runs the width of the house.
Once inside the below-street-level front door, the wood-and-glass lined front entrance gives way to a spacious, sunny living room anchored by a modern stone fireplace on one end. An entire wall of glass sliders opens onto a balcony that boasts amazing canyon views. The living room features high ceilings and is connected to the open-air kitchen, which has a trio of skylights and a professional-grade stovetop situated in the middle of the space. A casual dining space is located between the living room and the kitchen, and the more formal dining room area is on the opposite end of the home.
The three bedrooms are located one floor down, with the master suite taking up most of the lower level (each of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms). The master suite features an entire wall of nearly floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the surrounding greenery, with the opposite wall decorated with a colorful stone pattern. The adjoining master bathroom is crisp, modern, and homey all at once, with a deep soaking tub and separate glass-enclosed steam shower. A private outdoor patio featuring an in-ground spa and a sitting area is accessible through the master bedroom, and amply protected by a growth of mature trees. According to the listing, the views “transport one to the rainforests of Central and South America.” Other stars who live in the area include Nicholas Hoult, Roland Emmerich, and the currently embattled couple Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy. Gurira’s new purchase officially makes her bicoastal; just last year, she snapped up a $1.6 million lofted condo in the iconic Brooklyn building One Hanson Place, which was previously the Williamsburg Savings Bank Tower.
